台灣這幾年出現許多食安事件，例如塑化劑、進口飼料油、回收餿水油、棉籽油混充橄欖油之類事件，往往到最後刑事官司結束，廠商被罰錢，但是對消費者來說，已經買的東西已經退不了錢，消費者的損失無法回來。(甚至像統一塑化劑事件，統一僅被判賠消費者 86,892 元 From http://judicial.ronny.tw/PCD/V/101/%E9%87%8D%E6%B6%88/1)
